Yeah johnsons right. I read the same thing not so long ago - I can't remember who stated it but it was in the info banded about when we announced how cheap our season tickets were going to be

Re: Apparently we asked to have our last home game on the penultimate weekend of the season
Hugh reckons that the PL see it as a national event because it's where the world cup winners played and it certain to be on TV and didn't want it on the last day as they didn't want to overshadow any relegation and championship issues...............

Hmmmm

There you go - we are the licensee for 25 days a year! That's £100,000 a day I think?

Re: Apparently we asked to have our last home game on the penultimate weekend of the season
I find it unbelievable that the sale of the ground is allowed to be used to pay off part of the debt
For me, that has to come out of Gold and Sullivans own pockets, as whatever they pay off increases the value of West Ham

If that is the reason then I don't understand that logic because TV Broadcasters are surely only going to take our fixture if enough other games have nothing on them which surely will be harder to call weeks ahead rather than days that they get to make a decision for the last weekend.

Of course our game might actually something it on it and that is why it is chosen but personally the chances of it being picked for TV coverage are surely not improved by being on the penultimate weekend rather than the last.

I would think that TV companies would see the game as a massive draw and event, so are likely to get big viewing figures as a stand alone event rather than a game on at the same time as 9 others.

If us or Man Utd get to fa cup semi final that game will have to move. Throw in possible European games and there is a chance we will be playing man Utd in the final week. That would be interesting.

I bet the last game of the season will be shown on big screens from Upton park ,extra money for the club ,then mark noble will have his testimonial extra money for the club then some sort of bye bye upton park charity game ,extra money for the club

But what they're doing is not for the good of the club, it's for their own bank accounts
If they paid off the debt themselves they wouldn't lose a penny in the long run when they eventually sold up
Yes, they're entitled to do what they're doing, but what pisses me off is hearing them constantly banging on about how were going to get in the champions league soon
Only one way that's gonna happen, a massive cash injection,
They've just had the opportunity to do that and they've blown it out

Re: Apparently we asked to have our last home game on the penultimate weekend of the season
Here maverick, want to know what they've actually done?

Well, they've LOANED the club a load of their own money to pay off the third party debts meaning if we are sold then not only will they get the money for their shares, they'll get their loans back plus interest.

You're right in a way, that paying it off properly would increase the value but we're now tied to giving the tax payer some of that profit I presume if we're sold so I think this debt and loan scenario works out nicely for all.

When I say all I mean BERKS Inc, but I could be way off and no doubt someone is about to tell me I am.

"But what they're doing is not for the good of the club, it's for their own bank accounts"

What making the team successful and striving to make it better?

"If they paid off the debt themselves they wouldn't lose a penny in the long run when they eventually sold up"

So you're slagging them off for doing something and in the next breath suggesting they do it.

"Yes, they're entitled to do what they're doing, but what pisses me off is hearing them constantly banging on about how were going to get in the champions league soon"

Have they? I must have missed them saying we'll be in the Champions League soon. Are you sure you didn't imagine it?

"Only one way that's gonna happen, a massive cash injection,
They've just had the opportunity to do that and they've blown it out "

How have they blown the chance of a massive cash injection? The pool money alone from 2016/17 would be over £100m just for being relegated.

Yes what cunts they are, really. I mean what bastards to loan the club money to get the MASSIVE debt they took on under control and turn the club from a loss making club to a profit making one.

How dare they, I mean they should be buying players like Obiang, Song, Cabaye, Payet etc etc out of their own pocket the scoundrels

I notice alot of articles saying we have a £25mil budget for transfers this window
If that turns out to be true I think that shows a complete lack of ambition
It's the same amount as last year yet we've made more money this season and the Olympic stadium is now officially ours
Now is the time to spend some serious cash and if it doesn't happen then I doubt it ever will

It never fails to amuse me when people actually fall for this.

Anyway surely it isn't about the amount of money you actually spend, it's what you spend it on.

We've signed all those players? FMOB.

They will be buying players out of the TV money and you know it.

I didn't say it was out of order what they were doing, just that that is what they are doing. I'd probably do the same.

I wouldn't lie to the fans about it mind, but then they can't help doing that can they bless them?

As long as they don't go all Leeds or Pompey on us they've structured the finances as well as they could do and have made money available.

I'm not going to pretend it's a massive favour though. Jack Walker they ain't.
